John White and Community
We are OUR Community Together
I believe in community and I believe in serving our community. I have served the city I love for over 30 years helping people and organizations that need assistance. I believe the mayors office should be run with integrity, honesty, and professionalism. I look forward to being your next Mayor.
Community Service Matters
Rockin with Santa
Many of you might know me from Rockin with Santa which has been a staple in our community for the last 20 years. I started Rockin with Santa to give kids in need a good Christmas. I couldn't have done it without my community. At one point in my life my wife and I were in the same situation, so I wanted to do something for those in need. When we started Rocking with Santa, it was just the two of us. After it began, people reached out and now we help almost 160 families who receive gifts from generous donations.
Trunk or Treat Main Street / Haunted Harbor
I had a lot of fun passing out candy to the community.
Thanksgiving Drive
I'm always trying to help those in need, especially right in our own backyard. I'm humbled to be able to donate turkeys to families in need this Thanksgiving.
Senior Citizens CenterI'm humbled to be able to serve our seniors in this city. I joined in on seeing these seniors smile and connect again after the center was closed for 15 months due to COVID. We provided them with an 82" flat screen smart tv, a popcorn machine with supplies, cards, and board games.
I was honored to share in the cooking for our beloved senior residents at our Senior Citizens Center. Our seniors are a vital and important part of our community.
School Supply Drive
I'm happy to be apart of the City of Tonawanda High School "School Supply Drive." White's Turf Crew inc. along with the Knight's of Columbus donated. Thank you to all who gave and helped.
Kid's Fishing Derby 1997 - present
One of the most rewarding community events that I sponsor and run is the annual Kid's Fishing Derby along the mighty Niagara River. Each year fro 1997 - 2020, hundreds of youths from all over the WNY region come and cast a line and learn about our area's diverse fish and wildlife. We give away some amazing prizes as well.
Camp Spirit with the Boys and Girls Club
For the past decade, John and his wife Kate have been working with great volunteers to feed nearly 200 kids form the Boys and Girls Club at Camp Spirit.
This year we had our annual cookout in August. Even though it rained, that didn't stop the kids from having good food, snack, and fun.

As a graduate of Tonawanda High School, this is one of my favorite weeks of the year. I am a Tonawanda first and I''l be cheering on our Warriors. GO WARRIORS!!
Porch Fest
I had a blast playing some live music during the City of Tonawanda Porch fest.
This summer, I was honored to be apart of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Joey's Place on Niagara Street. The same place that you saw my campaign have one of my fundraiser events where I got to meet and talk to so many wonderful community members. Congrats and Good Luck to Joey's Place.
Supporting our First Responders
In August, I had the honor of watching six local heroes receive Commendation of Valor awards for their service. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. I am very proud to live in this city that is protected by our Police and Fire Departments.
The Wall That Heals
In July I had the privilege of viewing the arrival of "The Wall That Heals" as it arrived in our city, I watched and it moved me completely. Once you see it, your are never the same.
