John White's Policies
John's Priorities Stabilize Taxes Continuously Address Sewers and Flooding in our City Initiate More Economic Development and Growth Organize a Homeless Outreach Program Adjust Overnight Parking Restrictions Create a Mayor's Literacy Program for Children in our City Unify Communication between Mayor and ALL City Counci l 1. Taxes I am going to hold the line on taxes with the goal of lowering taxes throughout my tenure. I am going to accomplish this by evaluating how our tax dollars are spent and how we can increase revenue. As revenue goes up, taxes go down. Revenue is generated through bringing new businesses to the city, new houses on the tax rolls, and an increase in tourism. We can also offset costs through grants that can be applied to infrastructure and city projects. 2. Sewers and Flooding To address the sewers and flooding we have to work in accordance with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) regulations. I have w...

Mayor's Literacy Program
I visited the City of Tonawanda Public Library a couple weeks and we are so lucky to have such a nice library within our city. We all have an obligation to our children and we must ensure they can keep reading and learning by maintaining access to our library, especially during these trying times with Covid concerns. One of my goals and commitment as Mayor, will be to set up a Mayor's Literacy Program for the children of our city to encourage reading and make it a fun and enjoyable experience. The newly created Mayor's Literacy Program will encourage our City's youth to read throughout the summer. Books will be provided or books can be checked out through the library on Main Street. Each participant will earn a Mayor's "Super Reader!" Diploma and be entered for a chance to win some fun prizes. Sincerely, John L. White Your next Mayor
